Hello my dear bride! Congratulations!!!
Choosing your perfect dress is not easy and I was torn apart between a few styles. But I'm so happy I have chosen this one. This dress takes your breath away. From the moment you make your first step towards your man - everything goes still. This dress is not for everyone. It is not your classical ballgown, there is a caracter to it and it should match your personality. My man cried all the way as I was walking. He said he never imagined it would be so beautiful...
There is no need for any tiaras or sparkling detailing in this dress. it is just enough the way it is. I had a peach theme, so I bought beach ribbon (not from Vera as they dont make it in that shade). But most importantly is what makes my dress different from all other Katherines for sale - my alterations.
I have not altered the dress as I knew I will be selling it and wanted to get most of my money back. I'm tall (175sm - 5'9"), that is why I paid extra 250 for extra length. Inside layers we just stiched up and stiches can be easily removed. After those alterations made by Browns Bride, I spent 1 week in their workshop creating volume in the design. On Vera Wang website they spray dress during the photoshoot so it has volume. It doesn't look like that when it arrives new in the package. it is flat and edgy. Check other girl's photos and then look at mine. That is why I can ask higher price. I worked every curve of every ayer to make sure it looks exactly like the picture on the website. Every part was carefully stiched by the seemstress after my pinning. I wanted my dress to be perfection and thats why I spent so many hours working every detail. it can be easily undone by removing the stiches, but that is why it had so much volume and character.
I recently uploaded pictures of the dress before alterations, when it just arrived (the last 3 pictures), so you can see the difference my alterations made. The dress arrives flat with not much volume.
I am very happily married and I want you to have the best day of your life. Our wedding made it to pages of Wedding Magazine Ukraine as one of the most beautiful weddings of 2014.
From Vera Wang website:
The first thing that hits you with Katherine is the grandeur of the ballgown, and immediately it conjures the romantic, old-world fantasy of chivalry and stately ceremony and long hallways with footmen. You could see Katherine posed under a very opulent chandelier in a manor house, or framed beside an heirloom urn. And yet, it’s also a dress that breathes a very contemporary atmosphere. It has subtlety, it has a lot of artistic touches, a lot of life. Between the layers and layers of tulle and organza there’s nothing but air, so as the dress moves, and the shadows and tones become lighter, or darker, through those waves of fabric – you get a magnificent ballet of color and shadow. It’s especially splendid where you see these gatherings of bustled crinoline, creating asymmetrical figures in the line of the gown, like you see in the back, where it’s just a bit over the top in the way it’s been tacked up. In the front, there are beautiful blooms hand-rolled out of eyelash organza, just peeking out as if from a neatly-wrapped bouquet.
The gown’s natural waist, which is veiled with horsehair, draws right in for that trim hourglass silhouette, which is so classically seductive. There’s no lace or beading here: all the visual impact flows directly from the volume and the sculptural qualities of the fabric, for a consummately couture presentation.
